Also known as Géry-Bichard Adolph Alphonse.
Bichard studied under Gaucherel & Hedouin and made his Salon debut in 1879 with thirteen engravings for Murger"s La Vie de Bohéme (Gypsy Life). He received a bronze medal award in 1885, followed by silver in 1889 and gold in 1891. he is also known to have engraved front pieces for a number of publications and to have collaborated on the journal, Lart.
Bichard also was an important contributor to the vast collection of The Works of Moliére, contained within this catalog.
